LADR
Arts Festival
4-6 January 2019
PMBB, Abidjan, CIV.
LADR Arts Festival was a three-day event created to provide a vibrant artistic platform for young Ivorian artists to showcase their talents before a live audience. Selected participants were invited to join the festival for free, removing socio-economic barriers and giving them space to express their creativity.
The festival featured a variety of activities: on the opening night, a cocktail celebration accompanied an art exhibition; the second day offered workshops in acting, photography, and modelling; and the final day concluded with a talent show celebrating emerging performers.
Young painters exhibited their work throughout the three days, including Malothe Mathe, an artist from Zimbabwe presenting in Abidjan for the first time. The festival was a major success, helping to launch or boost the careers of several Ivorian artists, including comedian Cleantelex and actor/journalist Hermann Wilfried Boni.
By providing a fully inclusive platform, LADR Arts Festival fostered creative expression, professional development, and cross-cultural exchange, establishing a new benchmark for artistic events in Abidjan.
